Thank you for a terrific read. I enjoyed this book – both the story and the sentiment of lasting friendship that prompted yo to write it as you did. It’s a testament to a free-spirited man. The world would do better with more people like Dewey.

What a great story. It moved along well, and kept the technical clear, while still developing the emotion of the story: the inherent sorrow of a good man on a great mission never seeing the fulfillment of his dreams. Surely, this book must be part of that dream.

Well written biography of John Bindernagel, who spent a significant part of his life and career objectively analyzing the evidence (and pressing his peers to do the same) of an "officially" undiscovered North American primate.

Great read! You’ll learn about one of the great wildlife biologists and his jury to prove the existence of Sasquatch.

I was anxious for this book to arrive. Ordered early. . . I was not disappointed . . It's so well done, and shows the man John was. A humble, honourable, highly intelligent man who cared for each and every person he met. . . y.
He was a most amazing man, and the life he lived with his family was the kind of life most could only dream of. The book shows all this and I'm very happy to have it added to my library. John is missed very much. Thanks to Terrance for showing everyone who John was.

This book is extremely well written. Terrance James has done an incredible job delving into John's past, and all the research. I knew John, and was there on the last expedition to Alert Bay, but there was so much of his past I was not aware of. I went out with him and Tom Sewid with a Film Crew to Village Island over 20 years ago, and John was so enthusiatic and eager to find new evidence. I was so hopeful that he would. This new biography is a must read for anyone interested in the subject.

I'm reading this gem right now. Exceedingly well written and well edited, just an immense pleasure to delve into the life of this fabled academic and his search for answers to one of life's great and enduring mysteries.

Although I did not know Dr. Binderhagel, I felt I did by the end of the book. Dr. James captured John's personality and his passions. He expressed well the frustrations of a scientist to his professional community and his kindness and grace to the citizen scientists who needed to know that someone believed them. This biography is a legacy to a man who was a gentleman to the end. An easy, informative, eye opening read.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Where His Thumb Led. Yes, I did quite a lot of hitchhiking in my teenage years. But we’re talking north to lake country. Dewey is quite an adventurer. You too. Thanks for writing this wonderful book. What a trip. What a journey!

It was lovely! A relaxed and informative read that not only provoked philosophical pondering but whisked me away into a world that I always wondered about, given I was not allowed to hitchhike. As I got older I fantasized about traveling on a shoestring but between lack of courage and the ultimate deferral to comfort travelling, this remained an unrequited romantic dream. Thank you the story was particularly inspiring seeing Dewey’s resilience and optimism which formed his bedrock of confidence and faith in humanity and opportunity. I really enjoyed your format. It read like a comfortable trip. It was very personal to Dewey and so gracefully infused with your reflections and wisdom. Thank you! You did right by Dewey in bringing his story to the hearts of many.

I came in from the garden yesterday, poured a glass of wine, put my feet up, and began reading your book. I couldn’t put it down! Love it! … Dewey’s wanderlust also resonates with my Christopher Columbus blood and my inclination to ‘just go’ and resist routine. I get it! … his humorous and insightful commentary … your astute and clear narration. It all reads beautifully.
