I am a retired educator and rehabilitation consultant living in the Comox Valley, on the east coast of Vancouver Island, in the unceded territory of the K’omoks First Nation. I have spent all but five years of my life living on Vancouver Island.
I was a career educator with teaching experience at elementary, secondary, college, and university levels. I enjoyed a year teaching for the International Schools Organization in Costa Rica and had a short assignment with a CIDA-funded project teaching Palestinian rehabilitation diploma students in Gaza. For over 35 years I have also been a part-time, private practice, rehabilitation consultant assisting families with a member with Prader-Willli syndrome, the subject of my doctoral work.
I earned a MEd in Educational Administration from UVIC and a PhD in Educational Psychology from the Rehabilitation Studies Program at the University of Calgary.
